At Turtle Media we believe that great work is not just measured by business success but it is also measured by the impact we make beyond it.
Since December 2017, we have been proud to support Liverpool Homeless Football Club, a truly inspiring organisation based in Liverpool that uses the power of football to change lives.
Led by CEO John Finnigan, Liverpool Homeless Football Club has become far more than a football club. It is a community, a support network and, for many people, a lifeline. Behind the scenes, Fran Davis (recently retired) played a vital role in keeping the organisation moving forward, supporting finance, administration, sponsor reporting, HR and mentoring. Together, their dedication has helped the club continue making a meaningful difference to people facing homelessness, social exclusion and difficult life circumstances.
The club is also proudly supported by its patrons, including comedian John Bishop and former Premier League referee Chris Foy, whose endorsement helps shine a brighter light on the incredible work being carried out.
But our partnership with Liverpool Homeless Football Club did not begin in the usual way.
A Project Chosen by the Public
Back in late 2017, Turtle Media launched a social media initiative offering a completely free website to a deserving organisation.
The idea was simple: to give back by using our digital expertise to support a cause making a real difference.
We asked the public to nominate organisations they believed deserved this opportunity.
The response was incredible.
Among the many nominations, one organisation stood out clearly – Liverpool Homeless Football Club. Time and time again, people shared their stories, experiences and the impact the club had made on individuals across Liverpool.
This was not just a nomination. It was a powerful endorsement from the community. It became obvious that this was an organisation doing something truly special

More Than Just Football
Liverpool Homeless Football Club is far more than just sport.
The club provides a safe, inclusive and supportive space for people who are experiencing homelessness, social exclusion or challenging life circumstances. Through regular training sessions, matches and community sport, the club helps people:
- Rebuild confidence
- Improve mental wellbeing
- Develop routine and structure
- Feel part of a supportive community
- Access encouragement, mentoring and positive opportunities
Football is the tool, but the real outcome is transformation.
For many people involved, Liverpool Homeless Football Club becomes a stepping stone towards stability, opportunity and a fresh start.

Building a Platform for Impact
Following the overwhelming support from the public, Turtle Media began working with the club to deliver a brand new website, completely free of charge.
The goal was to create a strong digital presence that reflected the importance of their work and helped more people understand the difference the club makes.
This included:
- A modern, user-friendly website
- Clear messaging about the club’s mission
- A platform to help raise awareness
- Improved accessibility for supporters, sponsors and participants
- A stronger online presence to attract further support
Since then, our involvement has continued, supporting their digital growth and helping amplify their message to a wider audience.

A Partnership That Grew Naturally
What started as a one-time initiative quickly became something much more meaningful.
Over the years, the relationship between Turtle Media and Liverpool Homeless Football Club has developed into a strong ongoing partnership built on shared values: community, opportunity and impact.
We have remained committed to supporting their journey, not just as a project, but as a cause we genuinely believe in. Seeing the work of John Finnigan, Fran Davis, and the wider team first-hand has only strengthened our belief in the importance of the club. Their commitment, compassion and determination continue to inspire everyone connected to the organisation
Why This Matters
As a digital agency, our day-to-day work focuses on helping businesses grow online – generating leads, improving websites and driving measurable results.
But projects like this remind us of something bigger.
They show that:

Looking Ahead
We are incredibly proud to have been able to support Liverpool Homeless Football Club since 2018, and even prouder that our relationship has continued to grow over the years.
The work carried out by John Finnigan, Fran Davis, the club’s volunteers, supporters, sponsors and patrons such as John Bishop and Chris Foy deserves real recognition. Their collective effort continues to make a lasting difference across Liverpool and beyond.
Fran has recently retired after years of amazing service to the club and its members, and will be sadly missed – everyone at Turtle Media wishes her the best for the future.
